While some HFNO devices have a transport mode, most require mains power and will not deliver oxygen during transfer unless attached to a compatible uninterruptible power supply (UPS) device. Even a brief interruption to the delivery of HFNO could lead to respiratory and cardiac arrest, and consequently death or disability, noted the alert.
